About 12 holes of the Valley course are from the old Riverside municipal course. The sand bunkers are much improved (deeper and lighter sand) and the fairways much more lush and playable under the new ownership this year. The rough remains bone-crushingly rough as are too many sections of the cart paths. Play was a little slow (especially the front nine at 2-hr 45-min) in part because the rough was very thick right up to the fairways which were cut as narrow as I have seen there. Adding 10-yards of an intermediate first cut along the fairways would greatly speed play; no one wants to give up looking for a ball they thought was well hit down the fairway only to find it disappear just a few yards off the narrow strip of short grass. The practice area remains destination quality with upgraded bunkers including a new fairway bunker aligned with the all grass driving range. Unfortunately, the width of the range open for practice is often too restricted on weekends, leading to a wait for even a short warm-up.

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

They have just remodel the bunkers and widen the fairways a little, the day I played it was the first day of re-opening........ I was really impressed with the changes and the quality of the course has definitely improved under new ownership, it was always fun, but now it has awesome sand, beverage carts that actually service the players and a very positive and comfortable environment. If this is what to be expected on the Tournament Course, Coyote has just elevated it's quality of golf to be on par with any local private clubs!!!!!

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again

The Valley course is a good course but priced the same as the Tournament course which is a lot more difficult. Both are well manicured but play the Valley if you don't want to be frustrated with your golf game and just have a great day of golf.

Great course for average players; Strokes Club is the best deal in the area to keep cost down; staff is extremely friendly and helpful but snack bar and cart service are in the bogey range.

Much easier than the Tournament Course. Played this my first day (tournament the next). Easier for a high handicapper in that they can play from the next fairway on missed shots. Overall, very fun (especially because I shot lights out!)

Great training facility. Need more qualified PGA instructors to elevate the status of the training this facility is capable of. This is a course with great potential ass it once showed, but operates with a penny pinching mentality.

The greens had just been areated so low ranking for this. The layout is weird, as one hole does not follow the other and you often pass several holes to get to your next hole. In a cart this is OK, but if you walk, this is pretty bad. Overall good clubhouse, staff, carts and conditions. A few holes needs something extra, like more bunkers or a lake to make them more interesting. About 4 holes are identical, just going in different directions.

Discount green fees can be had if you sign up to their email blasts. A decent value for the green fees. Easy to play if you are a high handicapper. GPS carts are very nice. Wind is definitely two club either way in the afternoon. Greens well kept. Nothing spectacular relative to layout, but makes for enjoyable play.

Not nearly as good as the sister course, but the facility charges the same price for both. Nothing special about this course at all and definitely nothing memorable about it. At the price they charge, I won't come back.

A challenging Nicklaus course. Would be walkable if there weren't 4 holes where the previous green and the next tee weren't 2 miles apart.
